JDK offers the chance to work in an environment where creativity is driven by sound thinking. Both "left" and "right" brain types (and various combinations thereof) are welcomed here.
Our Burlington, Vermont, headquarters feature an indoor skate ramp, a small gym, proximity to bike and running paths along beautiful Lake Champlain, the Sanctuary Artsite gallery, the Iskra silkscreen printing facility, and a prototype shop. Our New York outpost is in the heart of SoHo and our Portland studio is located in the Brewery Blocks development in the Pearl District.
We offer a unique combination of progressive work, competitive pay and benefits, a client list of top brands, a youth-driven and energetic creative culture, and the opportunity to work and live in some of this country's most desirable cities.

Senior Designer
Thursday July 15th, 2010We are looking for senior designers to join us in our Burlington, Vermont, studio.
Please take a look around our website: get a feel for who we are, what we do, and what we believe. Our work, as well as the list of companies we partner with and the categories we create for, speaks volumes about our culture and our values.
If you can find kinship with the quality of design and ideas that you see presented, and you’re a knowledgeable and passionate participant in one or more of the categories and cultures our work influences, we might just be right for each other. We would love to see a cover letter from you featuring a short but thorough autobiographical sketch that details who you are, what you believe, and what you are into, along with five examples of your best work in a PDF.
SENIOR COLOR DESIGNER
Tuesday July 6th, 2010Are you a seasoned Senior Colorist who likes to have a seat at the table when color, trend, forecasting, and merchandising are on the menu? Do you have a commanding presence with a POV that makes people sit up and listen? Does your vision of style, color, and materials get noticed? Are you interested in building strong relationships with both designers and developers?
Yes? Then JDK Design wants to hear from you. We’re perched right on the shores of Lake Champlain in a 100-year-old former grocery warehouse where we get to work AND play through four pretty amazing seasons.
So, what does a Senior Colorist at JDK look like? You must have at least 8 years' color-specific experience in footwear, apparel, or textile design and be able to connect with and inspire clients. You’ll have a progressive color sense and a global understanding of youth-culture and action-sports lifestyles. You must be unafraid to ask questions, unafraid to work both independently and with a team, and unafraid of winter. An appreciation for the great outdoors and sports will serve you well. We also like really smart and really good, with proof to back it up. Like? Like a portfolio that demonstrates conceptual and creative strength.
Competitive salary and benefits, unique perks, and a top-10 lifestyle location. Thanks, and we can’t wait to meet you.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Thursday March 19th, 2009JDK is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Business Development Manager to join us in our SoHo studio. He or she will be responsible for generating opportunities for creative branding and design with progressive companies in fashion and apparel, consumer durables and electronics, media and entertainment, sports and leisure, and arts and culture.
Our Business Development Manager will have a sophisticated understanding of brand strategy, design, and marketing (and the facility to discuss them in the context of a prospect’s needs); a deep appreciation of the design disciplines’ synergistic interactions; and the ability to represent JDK’s unique creative culture compellingly to high-level executives and managers. Exceptional research, organizational, and writing skills necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a mature and polished presentation and exude a sense of ease and comfort in social situations, as he or she will regularly interact with principals and ranking executives. While New York is home base, traveling and prospecting nationally is expected.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in business or a related field and 5-10 years in business development with a design firm, ad agency, or related business required.
