CRANK IT UP

Michael Jager, Eli Jager, and JDK Designer Chris Partelow have created simple, colorful, upstart posters for two crucial local organizations that are giving Vermont artists a voice. Big Heavy World has been promoting Vermont's homegrown musicians since 1996. The Radiator, WOMM-LP 105.9 is a new Burlington-based low-power radio station that features local programming.

EpicQuest is for those with a bit of money to burn but very little time. They get a couple of windows for a vacation each year. They work really hard and want to play hard. It’s a huge pain to slog through the planning to get out.

PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR: JDK MAKES COMMUNICATION ARTS DESIGN ANNUAL

Now everybody scream! JDK's two-color screen-printed poster commemorating the tenth anniversary of Higher Ground made the Communication Arts Design Annual.
In the visual vernacular of live music, raised hands are a sign of approval and elation, as well as a key part of the call-and-response school of audience participation. Here this universal gesture helps to celebrate the South Burlington music venue's ten-year anniversary by serving as the carrier for the names of over 1100 different artists who have performed there over the past decade.

JDK FOR THE NATURE CONSERVANCY

JDK has limited-edition organic T-shirts in the Nature Conservancy Marketplace. We were inspired by many of the programs that the Nature Conservancy champions, so we designed graphic T-shirts that echoed particular initiatives—from their work creating marine preserves to sustainability and conservation education. We made sure that we were doing the least amount of harm creating these shirts by using organic cotton, non-toxic inks and dyes, and minimal packaging from 100% post-consumer recycled materials.

JDK is excited to announce the release of thirty-nine custom designs we created for the Flip Mino camcorder—what the New York Times has called "one of the most significant electronic products of the year." Flip asked JDK and a number of other fine firms to come up with designs to highlight and help kick start the camcorder's custom-art feature. We set our designers to work and submitted the cream of the crop—a rocking thirty-nine different choices.

MICHAEL JAGER AT GAIN AIGA BUSINESS AND DESIGN CONFERENCE

Michael Jager presented to a packed AIGA crowd during the often-tough post-lunch slot. He quickly got everyone focused on the topic of collaboration by talking about mortality—how precious time is, how we should be clear on who we're working with and how well we're working together.
